Seal Bay Tour, Kangaroo Island

sea lion spotted in Kangaroo Island

My favourite experience during one of my unforgettable Kangaroo Island tours was getting up close and personal with the locals at Seal Bay. At Seal Bay Conservation Park we walked among Australian sea lions nursing pups, playing in the surf and males battling for dominance of the female harem.

The seals are out at sea for 3 days then rest for 3 days - they are pregnant for 18 months, have a week off then are mated again.  They are fascinating animals.

Thanks to Renee for this story!

Happy travels,

Luke
