Kangaroo Island Tours
For 8 years, I owned and operated fun Kangaroo Island adventure tours, and for 2 years, I also had the pleasure of living there. Kangaroo Island is a beautiful place, there is an amazing bushland and Australian wildlife everywhere and the beauty is that the animals are all in the wild – not in a man-made wildlife park. Kangaroo Island has fantastic beaches and Vivonne Bay was even voted as Australia’s best beach.
When you go to Kangaroo Island – the bus ride is around 2 hours from Adelaide to Cape Jervis, the ferry takes 45 minutes from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw and then the island takes around 2 hours to drive from one end to the other. It is a big island!
There is so much to see and do, there are great adventure activities in Kangaroo Island and the scenery is breath taking – the Remarkable Rocks can only be described as remarkable and Admirals Arch is absolutely beautiful at sunset – where you see the sun go down over the sea through the arch.
Many people do comment on the cost of Kangaroo Island tours – there is a simple answer and that is that there is only one ferry to the island and it is quite expensive. The ferry is $98 per person and the transfers in buses from Adelaide are $50 – so basically it costs $148 before you even start your tour. This being said – it is still totally worth it and you will see the Australian animals in the wild, and have an amazing time.
If you do decide to go I would suggest you go for a minimum of 2 days – as 1 day doesn’t do the place justice.
Happy travels! Luke
