Why we’re happy about Tourism Australia and Singapore Airlines marketing partnership
Tourism Australia and Singapore Airlines have recently announced a three-year marketing deal worth AUD$12 million with joint funding for a range of tourism campaigns.
The campaigns and promotional activities will concentrate on seven key inbound markets: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, the UK, Germany, and China.
Why Adventures Beyond is excited about this partnership
We’re happy about this announcement because this will increase tourism to Australia, and we have the best Australia tours package that depart from all the Australian cities that Singapore Airlines flies to including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Singapore Airlines subsidiary SilkAir also operates flights between Singapore and Darwin, and from May 2015 will start flying direct to Cairns.
So, no matter where you land in Australia, we’ve got you covered for adventure tours.
(Singapore Airlines and codeshare partner Virgin have an extensive network)
Strengthening commercial relationships
Singapore Airlines is no stranger to working alongside Tourism Australia – they have a strong commercial relationship dating back over two decades, and were the preferred airline partner for the promotional campaign ‘Restaurant Australia’ held in Tasmania this month.
They will also provide international flights for Tourism Australia’s key Corroboree Europe trade event, which is being held in Adelaide in 2015.
During the twelve month period ending 30 September 2014, 368,400 visitors from Singapore travelled to Australia, an annual increase of 14.4 percent over the same period last year.
Singapore is now Australia’s fifth largest source market for international tourists. Both Singapore and Malaysia had more tourists visiting Australia in September 2014 than Japan, which was once Australia’s largest inbound market.
What this partnership means for tourists
Essentially, it means tourists will gain more exposure to Australian travel promotions and deals. To take advantage of this, visit www.singaporeair.com and sign up for their e-newsletter so you are kept updated about any Australia-related promotional deals and flight specials.
Customers booking Singapore Air and SilkAir international flights will be given the opportunity to purchase a ‘Visit Australia Airpass’ which gives them access to 29 Australian domestic cities operated on routes by Virgin Australia.
The only drawback is that the ‘Visit Australia Airpass’ cannot be booked online, so speak to your travel agent about the airpass, or phone your local Singapore Airlines Reservations Department before you book your long haul flight.
More flights to link with our tours
Another bonus is Singapore Airlines codeshare partner Virgin will commence thrice-weekly flights between Adelaide and Alice Springs from March 2015. This is great news for travellers that try and squeeze many destinations into their travel itinerary because it means you can save time travelling. Check out our tours that depart from Alice Springs!
